The Poplars Medical Centre is pleased to inform our patients that Dr Forman who had been working part-time has been replaced by a full time doctor who has commenced work at The Poplars in June.

This is part of our continuing personal investment in improving patient services.

AP - With swine flu continuing to spread around the world, researchers say they have found the reason it is so far more a series of local blazes than a wide-raging wildfire. The new virus, H1N1, has a protein on its surface that is not very efficient at binding with receptors in people's respiratory tracts, researchers at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology report in Friday's edition of the journal Science.

At the Poplars Medical Centre we have invested heavily in GP doctor appointments so that we can guarantee that unlike some other practices you will always see a highly trained doctor rather than a nurse when you consult with your medical problem.

We have recently introduced an automated telephone appointment booking system. Please note that in order to use this system we need to have your correct contact telephone details and date of birth on our computer system. This system allows patients to book, cancel, check or change a GP appointment 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
